Some people actually read more than just the title of the KB and realize that it provides a registration key for Office 2007 that does not require activation. Some people however don't. The latter accurately depicts this situation. Why bother with the unecessary frustration with beta products?

But how do I get a product key from my ms office 2007 already installed so I can register it without documentation? Do you actully mean Register, or do you really mean "Activate"? Registering is optional and doesn't really confer any benefits, activation is mandatory. Is your version a trial version?

Interesting to note: I've also had and activation issue (Office Basic as early as yeserday morning 5/23/06, and Office 2007 Beta today). When I called in to try and receive support related to the issue they told me, "Microsoft does not support Office 2007 Beta at this time (Case Id #: SRX060524604384)".

Running a beta program does not make you a beta tester.
